ABOUT ME
I have always been a great fan of science fiction, from Bradbury to Star Trek, with a little HG Wells thrown in for good measure and for most of my adult life I yearned to be able to write a good Sci-fi book. Fortuitously, I managed to work as a Technical Author for several years, which helped hone my writing skills without having to starve, though it did heavily constrain my creativity. My writing then had to be merely a hobby, with various short stories written for my own amusement. I wanted to write science fiction but I knew it had to be good and I wanted it to be original, with my own stamp of authorship on it.
Having spent many years working in technology, both electronics and software, I decided to make use of my experience to write a science fiction book that did not involve any of it, preferring instead to hark back to the age of steam and clockwork. Over a number of years an idea grew and evolved until not only did I have a book to write but an entire epic, that would fill many books and create a whole universe for my mind to play in. The question then, was where to start on this adventure. The result was The Search for Cern, where I could establish my future reality.
